Before start i want to tell you there is text in this thread with blue color they are link who can make this post more understanding. lets start...
 
For new trainer
 
For catch a Pokemon you have to complete 3 steps 1st step is find a Pokemon, 2nd step battle with Pokemon and 3rd step throw ball
Let me tell you 
 
1st step is find a Pokemon
 
Of course you have to find Pokemon first to catch him. Now i am going to tell you where you can find Pokemon

1st at Grass  its very easy to find just need to walk on Pokemon will appear.
2nd at clouds  its on at Zone 15 - Flying Type where you can only walk with Pokemon which have Fly move which cost 25000 gold if you don't know how to learn your Pokemon then watch video "How to fly" you just need to walk for appear Pokemon.
3rd at cave surface  this place is under ground at some maps here you can walk any where to find pokemon.

4th Walking on the water its on some maps you need pokemon with hyper surf move which cost 25000 gold if you don't know how to learn your pokemon then watch video "How to surf" you just need to walk for appear Pokemon.

5rd its a fishing you jest need to stand near the water areas with using Old Rod  which cost 1500 gold (short cut key for use 1) , Good Rodwhich cost 7500 gold (short cut key for use 2) and Super Rod which cost 15000 gold (short cut for use key-3) You just need to click at these item on your toolbar for appear pokemon 

6th its events chat




here Pokemon appear for 1 hour you just need to go that map to find it. In event chat only those pokemons will appear who are uncatchable at the map.

There is some rare Pokemon who hard to find for exp:

Starters: They will appear only at event chat with appear chance 0.1% that mean 1 Starter on 1,000 Pokemons

Ultra rare: They will appear with appear chance 0.08% that mean 1 Ultra rare on 1,250 Pokemons but luckily there is 4 Ultra rare are every map so now 0.08x4=0.32 appear chance that means 1 Ultra rare on 312.5 Pokemons but if you are trying to find it at event chat then that Ultra rare's appear chance will be 0.16% so now we have one more Ultra rare that means 0.32+0.16=0.48 that mean 1 Ultra rare on 208.333 Pokemons [but sadly if we have no uncatchable Ultra rares then Ultra rares will not appear on event chat(its very hard to see any Ultra rare appear at event chat at least i did not seen yet  ]

Legendary: They will appear with appear chance 0.04% that mean 1 Legendary on 2,500 Pokemon but luckily there is 2 Legendary are every map so now 0.04x2=0.08 that means 1 Legendary on 1,250 Pokemon but if you are trying to find it at event chat then that Legendary's appear chance will be 0.08% so now we have 1 more Legendary that means 0.08+0.08=0.16 that mean 1 Legendary on 625 Pokemon (but sadly if we have no uncatchable Legendary then Legendary will not appear on event chat)

Shiny: They will appear with appear chance 0.01% that mean 1 Shiny on 10,000 Pokemons but if you are trying to find it at event chat then that Shiny's appear chance will be 0.05% so now we have 1 more Shiny that means 0.01+0.05=0.06 that mean 1 Shiny on 1,667 Pokemons but if this event Shiny is Shiny Legendary then his appear chance will be 0.03 so now its 0.01+0.03=0.4 that mean 1 Shiny on 2,500 pokemons  (but sadly if we have no uncatchable Shiny then Shiny will not appear on event chat)

2nd step battle with Pokemon 

If this is that Pokemon who you want to catch then click on "Battle" button but its not that then click on "Try Run" button




Now you need to select your that Pokemon which going to battle you just need to click on his name to select him.




Now use your Pokemon's attacks you must take care that Pokemon you are trying to catch should not feinted/dead. 




3rd step throw ball

For throw ball you need to drop his hp% first its different for different class
Here is list
Common = 100%
Uncommon = 90%
Rare = 80%
Ultra rare = 75%
Starter = 75%
Legendary = 70%
Shiny = 60%

after dropped HP you can throw box but it that mean you will catch him 100% ? No!! its depend on how strong Pokemon is but yes if you use Master Ball   then you will never fail

note: Pokemon which you are trying to catch must have minimum 0.01% HP if he/she lost his all HP (pokemon HP is 0.0) then you can't catch
