only 3 things u need to do - 1. finish pokedex,  will give u DPS (different pokemon score)
                                       2. make sure to level each thing as soon as u acquire, will give u avg lvl score and total exp score
                                        3. try to keep ur money ranks up for money score.

Buy gems for  megas once you have money to spare, they're also dps. But if you want a challenge, try to get all of them and make them pvp worthy at the same time.
