How to host an unforgettable birthday party on the water
#1
Thinking about throwing my son’s birthday party at the lake this year instead of the usual backyard thing. Anyone done this before? Was it more hassle than it was worth, or did the kids love it? Any tips for keeping things organized out on the water?

We did my niece’s birthday at The Cliffs Marina last year and honestly, it was the easiest party we’ve ever hosted. They set us up with a pontoon, let us bring our own decorations, and even had suggestions for games and water toys. The key is keeping things simple—bring easy snacks, a cooler with drinks, and make sure every kid has a life jacket that fits. We let them take turns jumping off the boat and used the floating mats as the main hangout spot. The best part was that cleanup was basically just packing up the cooler and heading out. The staff were super chill too, which took a lot of pressure off.

Lake parties always seemed like the ultimate birthday when I was a kid. Nothing fancy, just swimming, laughing, and maybe a few soggy cupcakes. Way better than anything indoors if you ask me.
