How do development timelines impact the overall cost of making a video game?
#1
I always wondered why some games take 5-7 years to develop while others are done in less than two. Does time directly increase the development cost or is it mostly about the size of the team?

Game development time depends on project scope, technology, and team size. Bigger games need more content, testing, and refinement, which two player ps5 games extends timelines. Indie games may finish quickly due to smaller goals and agile teams, while AAA titles require years of polish.

There is a company called solar digital that, among other things, also deals with startups. They can make a semi-finished product for you in 6 months, which can already start bringing you income at this stage. How exactly they work is well described on their website. In addition, you can go to the case section and see what their projects are like.
