Which hard cover is best for everyday work trucks?
#1
I’m running a small landscaping crew and we’ve got three trucks in rotation. I want to get hard covers for the fleet, mostly to keep tools secure and protected. Needs to hold up to weather, bumps, and daily use — and be easy to install. Anyone know what’s the go-to for work trucks these days?

We added tri-folds to our plumbing vans last year and went with what I was told was the most popular tonneau cover by Extang — the Solid Fold 2.0. I was skeptical because we’re pretty rough on gear, but honestly they’ve held up better than expected. The covers clamp down tight, don’t rattle, and take under 10 minutes to install per truck. Guys step on them, load against them, and I haven’t seen a single panel bow or crack. They also keep water out — one truck got parked under tree runoff during a storm and everything stayed dry inside. The seal and hinge design clearly isn’t cheap. We use ours daily and the hardware hasn’t loosened once. Also helps that they look professional — no tarps or sagging covers. Strongly recommend for any trades crew looking for value and durability.
