Hey guys, I've been recently messing around with, Gimp, also watching tutorial videos, receiving help from Aniki and Malviago, I've created a few signatures and would like some Critics and comments

Here are the current ones I've made so far :

Good for a beginner

Very good start, blending is good, lighting could use some more work, text is well used, on your second sig it blends in too much to your background, i say give it a stroke next time. Try to sharpen your renders, so they stand out more, since that is the place of focus, it needs to be the first thing people notice in your designs. Keep practicing and I am sure you will make great signatures to even wallpapers, cause a signature has so little space that most designers prefer later on to work in a larger canvas.

Sharpen doesn't always work. The highest sharpen I use is 30.
But overall, when sharpen doesn't work it's because you have a poor quality image.

If sharpen looks a bit too much, might be cause you over used it, if you did the best thing to do is to drop opacity on the sharpen layer, if it was on the main render then oh well. Next time it is on the main focus, just copy the layer, then on the copy layer use sharpen, erase a bit the edges and drop opacity if you see it is too sharpened.



Looks okay, just that your focus point is all the way to the left, bring it a bit more to the right, just close to the middle, i am horrible with text still so cannot really give advice on it.

I would give you some tutorials I used to get better gradually but the internet deleted them. I'll try and get you some good tuts.
