How has gaming changed in the UAE in recent years?
#1
I remember how about 10 years ago in the UAE there were almost no large gaming events and tournaments. Everyone gathered at friends' houses or in small cafes with consoles. Now everything has changed: cool gaming zones and international tournaments have appeared. There are more mobile games, everyone plays on the go or while waiting. What do you think influenced such a sharp increase in interest in games?

Yes, you are right! The gaming industry in the UAE has grown a lot in recent years. This is due not only to the development of technology, but also to the change in leisure culture. Interestingly, gaming zones have become popular among young people and families. And mobile games have made gaming more accessible to everyone. Recently I read an article https://wow-rak.com/from-majlis-to-mobil...n-the-uae/ . It tells how the traditions of "majlises" - gatherings for communication - have grown into modern gaming communication through mobile platforms. It’s a unique combination of traditional and new. Almost everyone has a smartphone now, and mobile games are played everywhere: on the subway, in parks, and even at family gatherings. For young people, it’s not just entertainment, it’s a part of life.

I have also noticed that in the UAE, gaming culture has become more accessible. Previously, only those who had powerful PCs or consoles could play computer games. Now everything is simpler: everyone has a smartphone. Even the older generation has become more interested in mobile games. My father is 55, and he already plays chess online every day!
