With so many influencers, paid promotions, and bots flooding the internet, how much weight do you actually give to online reviews these days, especially when picking a movie, podcast, or local service?

I focus more on the negative reviews than the positives. Not the angry rants, but the ones with specific, thoughtful feedback. If someone explains why they didn’t like something, it’s often more helpful than vague praise. It helps me figure out if those same issues would bother me too.

I still use google reviews all the time, especially for restaurants and events, but I’ve learned to read between the lines. A glowing review could be from the owner’s cousin, and a 1-star rant might be from someone who didn’t like the lighting. What I do now is scan the middle-range reviews, they tend to be more balanced and honest. I also look at how businesses respond. If they engage respectfully, that’s a good sign.
With influencers, paid promos, and bots everywhere, do online reviews still matter when choosing a movie, podcast, or local service? Are they a real guide or just another Geometry Dash trap waiting to trip us up?

I don't know, but I have order a leather jacket for men from this store and they are very genuine and the product is very good and fit despite having no reviews on their website.
