Hey Cef my suggestion is that to add an option in the filter by location tab named Favorite by which we can find Pokemon added to favorite.You also have to put an option on every Pokemon that option is add to favorite.
And on the top of filter by location option put a filter 'sort by holding items'.It helps user to find a Pokemon holding a particular item.Picture is below:
